If hail has hit your Tuscany roof, Good Roofing will drone-inspect it for free, document every slope, meet your insurance adjuster on site and, when the claim is approved, replace the roof with Class 4 impact-rated shingles, so most Tuscany homeowners pay only their deductible (typically $1,000–$2,500). Tuscany was established in 1994 and had 19,884 residents in 6,672 dwellings at the City’s 2019 municipal census, which puts most original roofs at 15–30 years old: old enough that one storm can push a tired roof from “fine” to “replace.” The August 5, 2024 Calgary hailstorm, estimated at over $2.8 billion in damage, did its heaviest damage in northwest and northeast Calgary. The pages ranking for Tuscany hail repair today are citywide service pages. None publish a Tuscany price, name the storm, or explain what an adjuster looks for on a steep walkout roof. This page covers all three. Good Roofing has coordinated 2,800+ Calgary-region roofs since 2014 and holds 4.9★ from 237 verified reviews.

Why Tuscany roofs take hail harder than most of Calgary
- 01Roof age. Tuscany was built out from the mid-1990s to about 2010. Most of those homes went up with builder-grade shingles that were never impact-rated, and a 20-year-old shingle has lost the flexibility that lets a new one shrug off a strike. Hail that bounces off a 5-year-old roof cracks a 20-year-old one.
- 02Walkouts on the slopes. Homes on Tuscany’s ridges and coulee edges have tall rear elevations, steep multi-tier roofs and accent gables. More slopes face more directions, so a storm with wind behind it hits at least one face square on. These roofs are also hard to walk safely, which is why adjusters and roofers miss damage on them.
- 03Soft metals tell the story. Box vents, ridge vents, eavestroughs and downspouts dent at lower impact energy than shingles. On Tuscany inspections we start with the metals, because a dented vent cap on the west slope tells us where to look hardest on the shingles below it.

What we document on a Tuscany hail inspection
- 01Test squares on each slope. We mark a 10-by-10-foot area per slope and count the strikes, so the report shows hail density, not a single dramatic close-up.
- 02Functional versus cosmetic damage. A cracked mat, a bruise that gives under a thumb or granules knocked off down to the asphalt shortens a shingle’s life and is covered on most Alberta policies. Scuffs that only mark the surface usually are not. We tell you which you have before you call your insurer.
- 03Collateral damage. Dented vents, flashing, eavestroughs, window wraps, siding and fence caps. They support the roof claim and often belong in the same claim.
- 04Storm date. We match the damage to a dated storm so your claim names the right date of loss. Tuscany homeowners often find damage from an older storm they never reported, and that changes how the claim is filed.
- 05Interior checks. Attic deck, staining at ceilings below valleys and around skylights, and any leak path that needs a tarp before the claim settles.

How the claim runs, step by step
- 01Day 0: call and inspection. Drone inspection booked within 1 business hour. You get the photo report whether or not you file.
- 02Day 1–3: you open the claim. You call your insurer with the date of loss. We do not file for you and we do not ask you to sign over your claim.
- 03Adjuster visit. We meet the adjuster on your roof, walk the test squares and point out the collateral damage. On steep Tuscany walkouts this is where claims are won, because an adjuster who cannot walk the back slope may scope only the front.
- 04Scope review. If the insurer’s estimate misses slopes, ice-and-water shield, vents or code items, we send a written supplement with photos.
- 05Install. Full tear-off to the deck, synthetic underlayment, ice-and-water shield at eaves and valleys, new flashings and vents, and Class 4 shingles from IKO, Owens Corning, Malarkey Roofing Products or GAF. Most Tuscany re-roofs finish in one to two days.
- 06Close-out. Final photos to the insurer, the UL 2218 Class 4 certificate to you for your broker, and the 10-year workmanship warranty in writing.

Repair, partial slope or full replacement: what Tuscany homeowners pay
- 01Claim approved for full replacement: you pay your deductible, typically $1,000–$2,500. The rest of a $12,500–$28,000 Tuscany re-roof is paid by the insurer.
- 02Claim approved for one or two slopes: typically $3,500–$8,500 of work, also covered minus the deductible. On a 20-year-old roof we will tell you if new shingles on one slope will not match the rest, because matching is something to raise with the adjuster.
- 03No viable claim: spot repairs to cracked shingles, vents and flashing run $450–$1,800, or you can plan a self-paid Class 4 re-roof. We don't quote “starting at” prices. Every Calgary quote is fixed, written, and signed.
