Quick answer
Fixed price. Written quote. No “starting at”. No “today only.” No surprise line items at the end of the job. If the price doubles between quote and invoice — you’ve been worked.

Upselling in Calgary roofing usually happens in two places: the initial quote (“starting at $X” that grows during the visit) and the final invoice (surprise line items for ‘unexpected’ deck damage, ‘upgraded’ underlayment, ‘additional’ flashing). Both are avoidable.

How we make our Calgary quotes unfakeable
- 01Fixed-price, not time-and-materials. The number on the quote is the number on the invoice.
- 02Full line-item breakdown. Shingles, underlayment, ice-and-water, flashings, vents, permit, dump fees — itemized.
- 03First 4 sheets of rotted decking replaced free. So we don’t have a financial incentive to ‘discover’ deck damage.
- 04Permit and dump fees included in the quote. No surprise at the end.
- 05Class 4 shingles are the default, not an upsell. We don’t quote you Class 3 then upgrade you mid-job.
- 06No high-pressure visit. The quote arrives by email. You read it. You decide. We don’t do living-room closings.

Upsells we actively talk you out of
- 01Class 4 shingles on a small under-trees garage roof (overkill — save the money)
- 02Designer/architectural shingles on rental properties (the ROI isn’t there)
- 03Premium underlayment when standard synthetic is sufficient for your climate zone within Calgary
- 04Full re-roof when a single-slope repair would last 5+ more years
- 05“Maintenance plans” — Calgary roofs are largely maintenance-free with proper install
